When a child comes into your life, it is as if a small stone has been thrown into a pool. You will see the ripples spread outward, touching not only your own existence but that of your  immediate family, your friends and extended family, your community and ultimately the entire universe.'  - Gurumukh

Huge congratulations on your  pregnancy! You can start a yoga practice when you have reached 12 -14 weeks of pregnancy and you can continue up to the birth of your baby.

Practicing yoga during your pregnancy; whether you're new to yoga or a seasoned yogini, pre-natal yoga is the perfect practice for your pregnant body. Whether your pregnancy is filled with bliss or discomfort, the practice will help soften and relax your body, helping you alleviate any pregnancy symptoms you may be feeling. As well as giving you some time to connect with your ever changing body and the life growing within in you, whilst bringing peace and stillness. The practice will also help you prepare for your labour, mentally and physically, learning to trust the innate wisdom of your body.

Pregnancy is a time of profound change for a woman and partnership. Whatever your experience of getting pregnant has been it's likely you're feeling like you're on a bit of a roller-coaster of emotions; excitement, wonderment, apprehension, a sense of being whelmed at this miracle growing inside you.

Whether you're a seasoned yogi or new to yoga, or having your 1st 2nd or 3rd or 4th baby then a pre-natal yoga practice will be a wonderful addition to you right now.

As advised by NHS pregnant women should be active to help the body stay healthy and strong, as well as helping during birth and post natal recovery.

Pre-natal yoga will also help you have a more, relaxed and calm birth. Birthing without fear in the knowledge that your body has knows how to birth your baby in exactly the same way that it innately knew how to grow your baby.

What can you expect from a Pre-natal, practice?

In class you will learn breathing techniques, visualisations to help with labour, positive affirmations and yoga stretches to aid pregnancy as well as positions for birthing your baby.  Classes will finish with a deep relaxation for nourishment of you and baby, leaving you feeling relaxed and empowered.
