Yesterday I was clever, so I wanted to change the world. Today I am wise, so I am changing myself - Rumi
A little bit about me
Cheryl in passionate about Yoga and teaches from the heart, offering a light-hearted approach whilst weaving in the spiritual elements of yoga, she is an anatomy enthusiast and loves to integrate this into her teaching. She enjoys teaching beyond the yoga poses and includes mindfulness breath connection and breathing practices - pranayama and meditation at the start of practice.
Cheryl completed her 30 hrs advanced teachers training in May 2021. Adding an additional 300 hours onto the existing 200 hours of training, it was an amazing opportunity to continue to learn more about this beautiful practice.
After more than 10 years of working in digital media and having 2 children she knew the time had come to change her path, she left media in 2017 to start teaching full time. She is passionate about teaching and feels honoured to be able to share this incredible practice.
Cheryl attained her 200 hr certification in 2010, in 2017 she completed 112 hrs in her pre/post natal training. Cheryl loves learning about all things Yoga and loves to be able to teach people of all ages and abilities so in 2019 she completed 28 hrs in Kids/Family Yoga. More recently she has studied Yoga Nidra (42 hrs) - Bihar method. 42 hrs in Restorative Yoga and 14 hours Sound Healing. She's explored classes in Sanskrit and Mantra and Goddess Wisdom.
Having always been naturally drawn to strong cardio exercise; completing marathons and triathlons, she has always been drawn back to the healing power and serenity that yoga offered, an opportunity to disconnect from the world and tune into within.
She enjoys everything yoga has to offer and has enjoyed practising Shivananda, Vinyasa flow, Astanga, Dharma and Bikram, practising with wonderful teachers all over the world. She is inspired by all these forms of yoga and incorporates this into her teaching.
Cheryl is fortunate to teach the majority of classes from the heart of her home, which she shares with her wonderful and talented husband and their 2 gorgeous little girls. It feels very special to be able to share her home space with students, and feels privileged to be able to teach and share the wonderful practice of yoga with the lovely people who attend her classes.
